To say, "I have a Ferrari", requires us to acknowledge our ego. The ego is the "I" or self of any person, that for many of us, manages our life. It's never at rest or satisfied. It always wants more. There are a lot of people who have identified themselves too much with money, recognition, and the material life. Their identity is based on this, and so when this vanishes, their identity is threaten, as they have valued themselves mostly on these principles.
